Shag Workshops mit Peter & Aila

Anfang Juni haben wir die internationalen Shag Trainer Peter Ayres & Aila Floyd zu uns eingeladen.

Sie werden vier verschiedene Collegiate Shag Einheiten und einen kürzeren St. Louis Shag Workshop unterrichten. Alle Workshops sind im SLIH Ballroom und in englischer Sprache.

Am Samstag gibt es im Anschluss an die Workshops unser Fast Feet Social ebenfalls im Ballroom (Teilnehmer:innen der Workshops haben freien Eintritt).

Sichere Beherrschung des 6-Count Basics mit verschiedenem Footwork sowie einfache Moves und Breaks vorausgesetzt.

Collegiate Shag Advanced

Voraussetzungen
Ab 2 Jahre Shag Erfahrung = SLIH Intensive Kurs

Sichere Beherrschung von Basics Variations und verschiedenen Breaks die Du musikalisch einsetzen bzw. folgen kannst. Ein mittleres Repertoire an Moves leaden/followen bis Tempo 240 bpm vorausgesetzt.

Collegiate Shag Beginner/Intermediate

Voraussetzungen
Ab 3 Monate Shag Erfahrung: Beginner und Leute die schon lange nicht Shag getanzt haben.

Du beherrscht ein paar Basics und Breaks, die du zu langsamer Shagmusik (ca. 180 bpm) anwenden kannst.

Collegiate Shag Intermediate und höher

Sichere Beherrschung des 6-Count Basics mit verschiedenem Footwork sowie fortgeschrittene Moves und Breaks vorausgesetzt.

Peter took up dance after gatecrashing a party and finding himself unable to dance to fantastic music.
Founder of Shag Pile and co-founder of monthly club night Kings X Swing, his love of Shag is infectious. and has taken him around the UK and Europe. He has performed at festivals around the UK with the Mudflappers, at the Royal Albert Hall with the London Swing Cats, and at Secret Cinema’s Watchmen and Back to the Future events.

Together with Shag Pile colleague Janet, he taught the lead actors to dance and choreographed 30 extras for the lovely Austrian film Where I Belong. He can be seen dancing in the unfunny Cameron Diaz vehicle Gambit, the much better Me and Orson Welles, and the megasequel Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, although you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled for that one. 

Aila first developed a passion for swing dancing over 10 years ago in London, where she continues to dance and teach.
As well as reigning supreme in shag, winning first place with Peter at Rock That Swing 2015, Aila is a Lindy Hop champ, winning with dance partner Richard Pucci at the European Swing Dance Championships 2013. She has featured in music videos for George Michael and KT Tunstall.

As choreographer and director of internationally renowned flapper troupe The Bee’s Knees, she has performed all over the world including appearances at the Venice carnival and has featured on TV shows.
